Train Transfers To and From Cagliari Airport

Elmas Aeroporto railway station is just a five minute walk from the terminal at Cagliari Airport and provides easy access to all the major locations in Sardinia, including Decimomannu, Oristano, Olbia, Sassari, with lines terminating at Carbonia Serbariu, Porto Torres Marittima and Golfo Aranci.

Tickets can be purchased from Trenitalia vending machines, which can be found in the Arrivals area of the airport and in the train station itself, as well as online and from official ticket counters. Trains run from 5am in the morning until 9pm at night. Trains to the city of Cagliari take between six and nine minutes with services running on average every 20 minutes. A single ticket to the city costs just €1.30.

Decimomannu can be reached in just 7 minutes at a cost of €1.90 for a single fare and services run on average every 20 to 30 minutes.

Train fares to Sassari Airport start from €16.50 and the airport can be reached by the direct Regionale Veloce 3952, which takes two hours and 53 minutes. However, this service only operates once a day. More options are available, including the early morning service, which involves two changes (Regionale 22900, Regionale 3948 and Regionale 26908) and takes three hours and 39 minutes.

Olbia Airport can also be reached by train. The shortest journey requires just one change and takes three hours and 16 minutes (via the Regionale 3950 and Autobus CA622). Train fares to Olbia start from €18.
